The second hour of practice got underway at the Circuit Gilles-Villeneuve for the Canadian Grand Prix.  This followed a few hours after the events of Free Practice 1. Following an early crash and a crash in FP1, it meant only 18 drivers could complete a lapped time.

Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc did not participate in the event, having crashed his car badly and requiring extensive repairs. It meant he was ruled out for the second hour of practice.

Stroll, who returned from injury, was able to avoid causing a red flag early on in the session as he tried to limp home with a broken suspension. This was a result of a glancing blow with the barrier at turn seven. He was quickly told to stop the car by his pit wall and soon found an access point to be pushed away.

Hi, I'm Kamron. I created ApexMotorsports.co.uk in the dying embers of the 2021 Formula 1 world championship. It allowed me freedom to write whatever I wanted to write about which was all things motorsports, my passion. I have put a lot of effort in over the years to keep this website in its best shape and I've loved seeing the brand grow consistently, month-on-month, year-on-year. My ambition is to keep watching this brand grow into a primary outlet of news for all things motorsports whilst fueling my desire to pursue a career in sports journalism, specialising in motorsports.
