Verstappen took back-to-back pole positions in 2025, following the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix – last time out, but it also marks back-to-back poles at the Miami GP event itself, 2024 and 2025.
The two championship-contending McLarens will share the front two rows with Lando Norris starting alongside Verstappen, and Oscar Piastri will start behind his teammate, in second and fourth, respectively.
Mercedes’ Kimi Antonelli was not able to replicate Friday’s stunning Sprint pole lap. However, the young Italian still put in a strong performance to split the two McLarens in third.
Ferrari’s Lewis Hamilton suffered a shocking exit in Q2 as the seven-time world champion topped out at 12th-fastest in qualifying. He will start between Isack Hadjar of Racing Bulls and Kick Sauber’s Gabriel Bortoleto, who start 11th and 13th, respectively.

Hi, I’m Kamron. I created ApexMotorsports.co.uk in the dying embers of the 2021 Formula 1 world championship. It allowed me freedom to write whatever I wanted to write about which was all things motorsports, my passion.
I have put a lot of effort in over the years to keep this website in its best shape and I’ve loved seeing the brand grow consistently, month-on-month, year-on-year. My ambition is to keep watching this brand grow into a primary outlet of news for all things motorsports whilst fueling my desire to pursue a career in sports journalism, specialising in motorsports.
