Unlike pre-season testing, where rain made a rare appearance in the desert, the race is expected to be a dry one. As such, Pirelli have confirmed the two-stop would be the preferred strategy.
The sole tyre supplier has given four different tyre strategies involving a two-stop strategy, but they have confirmed a one-stop strategy will be possible.
For the soft tyre runners, the first stop will remain the same, with stops expected around laps 10 to 16. However, depending on the tyre compounds they choose, it would determine their next stop.
What are the most likely strategies for the #BahrainGP ? What’s the difference between the three compounds in terms of grip at the start? And what is the breakdown of tyre sets available to each driver? You can find it here: 👇#F1 pic.twitter.com/bUazu1Qxfo

If soft-starters opt for a medium double-stint, their next stop would be on laps 31 to 38. But if they go for a hard-medium stint, their final stop would be expected around 33 to 39.
Similarly, for the medium tyre runners, their selection of tyres will impact when they would be expected to stop. For those starting on the medium tyres, it would be expected for them to stop between laps 14 to 22, onto the hard tyres.
However, if they were to revert to a medium set of tyres, their next stop would come at laps 34 to 40. With a soft final stint, they expected the stop to come on lap 38 to 44.
Gambling on the one-stop is possible, but it would require a medium/hard strategy. The medium runners would stop on laps 22 to 28 and move onto the hard tyres until the end of the race.
