The first sprint race of the season is now completed, and Marquez took victory, his first for Ducati, ahead of his younger brother, Gresini rider, Alex.
The two brothers lined up on the front row, with Marc out front ahead of Alex and Francesco Bagnaia completed the front row in third.
When the 13-lap sprint race got underway, the two brothers took out the race lead with Marc ahead of Alex. Bagnaia remained in his position. Across the race, the top three remained unchanged until the chequered flag.
As it progressed, the top three had established a gap with both Marquez brothers and Bagnaia close together, but the rest of the pack sat 1.3 seconds off.

Prima’s Jack Miller was the only rider to have a big moment in the 13-lap sprint as the Australian rider slid off his bike into a fast right-hander, which caused him and his bike to slip into the gravel.
Fabio Di Giannantonio, Pertamina Enduro, was the second DNF of the race as the Italian rider seemed to have mechanical issues with his bike and he cruised around the circuit.
The MotoGP Sprint marks the end of the day’s action in Thailand, and the sport will return on Sunday for the warm-up at 10:40am local time (3:40am GMT).
The main race will get underway at 3pm local (8am GMT) for the first race of the 2025 season.

Hi, I’m Kamron. I created ApexMotorsports.co.uk in the dying embers of the 2021 Formula 1 world championship. It allowed me freedom to write whatever I wanted to write about which was all things motorsports, my passion.
I have put a lot of effort in over the years to keep this website in its best shape and I’ve loved seeing the brand grow consistently, month-on-month, year-on-year. My ambition is to keep watching this brand grow into a primary outlet of news for all things motorsports whilst fueling my desire to pursue a career in sports journalism, specialising in motorsports.
