On Tuesday, Alpine announced they are set to stop manufacturing their own power units from 2026 as the French team have entered a multi-year agreement with Mercedes-AMG High Performance Powertrains.
It was announced in September that the team will no longer build their own power units with the technical regulations coming into effect, overhauling the power units and chassis.
The new agreement will start in 2026 and is expected to run until 2030, with Mercedes providing the French outfit with power units. In addition, the multi-year deal will see Alpine being supplied with Mercedes gearboxes.

The French team are expected to fulfil the hole of which Aston Martin will leave when the Silverstone team becomes Honda-powered in 2026.
In the announcement, the team continues to remain ‘focused on performing in the strongest way possible in the 2024 and 2025 seasons,’ as they head towards the new agreement.
With Pierre Gasly remaining with the team next season, and Jack Doohan set to arrive next season – replacing the departing Esteban Ocon. It means the team’s drivers will have one final season under Alpine power until they take on the Mercedes power units and gearbox.
