Central Europe stands as the next round of the WRC’s championship, with it being the season’s penultimate event. Despite this, the drivers and co-drivers’ championship is yet to be sealed and secured.
Heading into the season’s final two events, the championship has been led by the Belgian Hyundai crew of Neuville and Wydaeghe, since they took victory at the season opener in Monaco.
Whilst the Belgian i20 crew could’ve won the championship in Chile last time out, this championship is simply theirs to lose.
So the WRC Central European Rally may be a couple of weeks away but who will be competing when it arrives?

How can they win the championship in Central Europe?
It’s a return to asphalt roads for the remaining two events of the year with Chile being the last gravel event of the season. At the same time, Neuville has a proven record on tarmac and will be a tough opponent for his fellow championship rivals to beat.
Having won the inaugural event last year, Neuville will be looking to make CER his third win of the season after Monte-Carlo and Greece and take the title.
To do this, the permutations claim that Neuville needs to outscore his teammate – and closest championship rival – Ott Tanak by two points to have mathematical certainty of winning the title.
However, with a team’s championship still up for grabs between Hyundai and Toyota, Neuville will need to make sure he doesn’t drop any points to Toyota’s drivers.
As such, the Belgian crew will need to avoid dropping 10 points to Sebastien Ogier and 16 points to Elfyn Evans – 15 if the Welshman wins the rally.
What do you think, will Neuville and Wydaeghe secure the championship in the WRC Central European Rally?
