Norris stormed to a dominant victory around the Marina Bay Street Circuit having beaten Verstappen off the line, into the first corner. From there, the Briton controlled the race from lights to flag to take his third win of the season.

Whilst the Briton went on his merry way to his eventual win, many drivers waited on a safety car which never came, making it the first time in the venue’s history to not have a safety car intervention.

The McLaren winner almost took home his first grand slam performance in addition to his strong race, however, former teammate, and Visa Cash App RB’s Daniel Ricciardo snatched it away at the last opportunity.

Verstappen finished the race in the same position he started, in second, to keep the deficit to Norris to a minimum. Following Ricciardo’s fastest lap, it means Norris has cut the gap down to Verstappen to 52 points.

Norris’ teammate, Oscar Piastri rounded out the podium in third to keep McLaren ahead of Red Bull in the constructors. After Sergio Perez finished the race in 10th, it means McLaren have extended their championship lead to 41 points.

After overtaking teammate Lewis Hamilton in the pit stops, Mercedes’ George Russell managed to keep Ferrari’s at bay after the Monegasque put on a late charge. The Briton completed the race down in fourth with Leclerc in fifth.

Hamilton finished in between the two Ferrari’s, in sixth, whilst Carlos Sainz – who had crashed out in qualifying – completed the session in seventh.

Aston Martin’s Fernando Alonso occupied eighth ahead of Haas’ Nico Hulkenberg in ninth, to complete the top 10, as Perez took the final point in 10th.
