Finnish F1 driver, and 10-time race winner, Bottas has revealed a post on social media claiming that he is enjoying some time in the States – and potentially teasing his F1 future.

Kick Sauber is yet to announce their second driver to partner alongside Nico Hulkenberg, who was confirmed to join the team earlier this year before they transition into Audi in 2026.

However, on a social media post, Bottas was pictured in his team kit in front of an Audi R8 which has ‘VB’ and ‘77’ incorporated into the side of the car.

On X, he said:

“Fun day in California. More to come eventually about our secret mission with @Hyland”

One of their drivers, Bottas finds himself out of contract this season and remains searching for a seat next season, amongst other drivers vying to do the same – including teammate Zhou Guanyu.

Only four seats remain with two already pencilled in – just needing to be confirmed – with Kimi Andrea Antonelli at Mercedes and either Daniel Ricciardo or Liam Lawson at VCARB.

This leaves Alpine – alongside Pierre Gasly – and Kick Sauber with Hulkenberg.

Whilst this may tease a pending announcement from Bottas to sign up with Audi/Kick Sauber, or just simply a promotional partnership for the Finn, time will tell as the season heads towards its natural conclusion.

Hi, I'm Kamron. I created ApexMotorsports.co.uk in the dying embers of the 2021 Formula 1 world championship. It allowed me freedom to write whatever I wanted to write about which was all things motorsports, my passion. I have put a lot of effort in over the years to keep this website in its best shape and I've loved seeing the brand grow consistently, month-on-month, year-on-year. My ambition is to keep watching this brand grow into a primary outlet of news for all things motorsports whilst fueling my desire to pursue a career in sports journalism, specialising in motorsports.
