F1 returns this weekend with the Canadian Grand Prix following a lacklustre Monaco Grand Prix, two weeks ago, where Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc took his first home win.

However, the Canadian weather looks predominately wet with perhaps one session predicted to be dry.

According to the Met Office, every day of the three-day event will have some rainfall in the area.

Weather report: Friday

According to Met Office’s forecast, Pirelli’s blue-walled wet tyres may be in full force this Friday.

The meteorological service predicts the area will see heavy rain, with a 60% chance of precipitation from 1pm to 3pm before it increases to 70% until 6pm.

Given Free Practice 1 starts at 1:30pm followed by FP2 at 5pm, local times, it’s expected to be a wet start to the weekend

Weather report: Saturday

Saturday is a slightly different story compared to Friday.

FP3 is scheduled to start at 12:30pm (local time) and the Met Office predicts there will be sunny intervals from 11pm until 2pm, with light rain forecasted. Meaning, we may get some slick, dry tyre runs.

However, the weather will switch back around for qualifying at 4pm (local) with light rain falling during this time. If qualifying can be cleared without incident, the sport may avoid the heavy rain forecasted for 5pm.

Weather report: Sunday

It looks like it may be the first wet race of the season this week as the heavens are expected to open up, at race time (2pm local).

The Met Office forecasts a 60% chance of precipitation from 2pm and 5pm. This forecast means the only predicted dry session of the weekend will be FP3.
