Haas F1 reveal VF-24 as car launch season begins
2nd February 2024Haas F1 Team reveal their Formula One championship contender, the VF-24, as the sport prepares for the pre-season test in Bahrain.
The VF-24 has finally been shown off to the world, in all its glory, as Haas mark themselves as the first team to reveal their car this season. The remaining nine teams will follow suit and reveal all in the next two weeks.
Kevin Magnussen and Nico Hulkenberg will continue to pilot their respective cars for the upcoming campaign, continuing where they left off in 2023.
Whilst the driver line-up has not changed, the senior management has as Ayao Komatsu steps in for his first full season in charge, as Team Principal, since Guenther Steiner left the team with immediate effect.
Commenting on the car launch, Komatsu said:
“We’re realistic about our expectations for the VF-24 to start but it’s still an exciting moment in any Formula 1 season to showcase the car.
“There’s a lot of work ahead of us to make progress and increase our performance but everyone here is highly motivated and eager to get on track with the VF-24.
“I know we’ll be maximising our time in Bahrain with all the various items we need to push through. Bottom line, we can’t wait to get going and get the season underway.”
For the car itself, the same colour scheme of white, black and red returns for another season.
However, unlike last season, the team have opted for a primarily black livery which could ultimately aid weight reduction – if required – with splashes of white and red dotted around.
Despite this, it’s not a full real car launch as the team revealed digital renditions of their 2024 contender, in a promotional video of the VF-24.
The team have reported the car will get its track debut at the British Silverstone Circuit, on Sunday, February 11. Nico Hulkenberg will give the car its first moments of on-track action before the team head to Bahrain for the official F1 pre-season test.
“I’m looking forward to seeing the VF-24 running and racing – a sentiment I know I share with our partners and indeed the entire team,” commented Haas F1 Chairman and team owner, Gene Haas.
“In Nico Hulkenberg and Kevin Magnussen, we also know we’ve got a great pair of drivers behind the wheel, their experience will prove invaluable again as we develop our program through the year.
“We’ve used the off-season to put the processes in place to be better and ultimately improve our overall performance. Soon we get to see how we’re doing.”
Williams and Stake F1 are the next teams to reveal their 2024 contender on February 5, following Haas & McLaren who revealed digital renders of their 2024 liveries.
