Canet found a way passed Acosta as the ran wide on the exit of turn 10 which allowed Fernandez to establish a healthy half-a-second gap between the remaining top three drivers.
However, Red Bull rider was able to regain his lost position and found a way back past Canet. As a result, Acosta was able to chase down Fernandez for the race lead.
The lead soon changed hands as Acosta drafted passed Fernandez, into the braking zone of turn 16, on lap 10.
With three laps left to go, Acosta had checked out of the race with a healthy 2.7-second gap separating himself and Canet who had found a way passed Fernandez, into second-place, in the final stages.
