The British Grand Prix saw a return to LEGO vehicles being used on the driver parade ahead of the race at Silverstone. Back in Miami, in 2025, the then-20 drivers had used full-scale F1 cars around the Hard Rock Stadium.

These cars returned this weekend, but on a smaller scale, with Mini LEGO cars, designed in the 2026 team colours for each respective driver.

However, it didn’t take long for chaos to ensue, allowing the drivers to have a laugh in their new machinery.

As the pack slowly trundled around T3 and T4, Village and The Loop, some of the drivers opted to chance it across the gravel trap heading towards the Wellington Straight.

What are the tyre strategies for the British Grand Prix?

However, a handful of drivers found themselves beached on the track, including the FIA President, Mohammed Ben Sulayem.

They were eventually able to get going again, by the drivers manually getting the cars out of the gravel, with help from the Silverstone Marshals.

However, this was not the only opportunity that the drivers tried to cut the track, with many cutting off Luffield (T7) across the grass onto Woodcote (T8).

Heading down the Hangar Straight, Aston Martin’s Fernando Alonso was seen trying to hit Valtteri Bottas’ Lego kart’s brakes, before cutting the corner once again with Bottas and Haas’ Esteban Ocon at Club.

If there was to be a winner, Alonso would be declared as such as the two-time world champion took the finish line first of the rest of the field.
