During the final free practice session of the Dutch Grand Prix weekend, on Saturday morning, the FIA confirmed that Hadjar, of Racing Bulls, will take on new power unit components for the upcoming Grand Prix.

Midway through the second hour of practice, after Aston Martin’s Lance Stroll crashed out at turn three, Racing Bulls ordered Hadjar to stop out on the Zandvoort circuit after the Frenchman reported that he lost power out on track.

It brought an abrupt end to his session, and the team were found to have broken the curfew overnight alongside Aston Martin. It was their first offence of the season, where all teams are allowed two jokers to break curfew, so no further action will be taken.

However, the FIA has now confirmed that Hadjar has taken on five new engine components, such as a new internal combustion engine (ICE), turbocharger (TC), motor generator unit-heat (MGU-H), motor generator unit-kinetic (MGU-K) and a new exhaust.

For the ICE, turbocharger, MGU-H & MGU-K, it is the fourth new component for his car and the final one allowed under the current regulations. It means if the Frenchman takes another new component, listed above, he will receive a grid penalty for exceeding his allowance.

In turn, the new exhaust is Hadjar’s sixth of the season, of the eight allowed under the sporting regulations.

As such, it means all the new components are within the confines of the sporting regulations, and Hadjar will not receive a grid penalty this weekend.

At the end of the third practice, ahead of qualifying, the French Racing Bulls driver finished ninth between the two Aston Martins of Lance Stroll (eighth) and Fernando Alonso (10th).
