Oliver Solberg one stage away from WRC victory at Rally Estonia
20th July 2025Toyota’s Oliver Solberg is one stage away from his maiden victory in the World Rally Championship with only the Wolf Power Stage left to be completed.

Three stages lined up the itinerary for Super Sunday’s action: Hellenurme and two passes of Kääriku. The former was the standalone stage, whilst the first pass of Kääriku was the dress rehearsal for the power stage.
Despite Solberg’s stance that he was not fighting for the win earlier on in the event, stating he was there to learn, the Swedish driver has not relinquished the rally lead since he snatched it on Friday morning.
He finished the first full day of the event 12.4 seconds ahead of Hyundai’s Ott Tanak, and Solberg followed this up on Saturday by extending his rally lead to 21.1 seconds.
So far on Sunday, the Swede has claimed two of three stage wins and has increased his lead at the top to 26.3 seconds over Tanak. It also means the Swede provisionally holds maximum points (5) for Super Sunday, with five more up for grabs in the Power Stage.
Tanak and his Hyundai teammate, defending world champion Thierry Neuville, had been fighting each other all weekend for second place as Solberg edged ahead. However, that fight has seemingly been put to bed on Sunday.
The two Hyundais were separated by four seconds going into Sunday, but a 10-second time penalty for a jump start, imposed on Neuville, has scuppered the Belgian’s hopes for second place. Neuville now sits 21.9 seconds behind Tanak.
The Wolf Power Stage, Kääriku 2, will get underway in just under an hour at 1:35pm local time.
