Who is driving at WRC Safari Rally Kenya 2025?
6th March 2025The iconic Safari Rally Kenya is the next round on the 2025 World Rally Championship calendar, and it will mark the first gravel event of the 14-round season.

In contrast to the previous event, with the snowy landscape of Sweden, the WRC heads to Africa for the first gravel event of the season, known to be one of the toughest and unpredictable rallies of the season.
The rally’s gravel nature will mark the third different consecutive road surface which the teams, drivers and Hankook will have to prepare for before they head back to asphalt in the next debuting event: Rally Islas Canarias.
So, who will be driving in the upcoming Safari rally?
Toyota
The leading world champions, who have secured two maximum-point-scoring events at both Rallye Monte Carlo and Rally Sweden, respectively, will enter Kenya in unstoppable form.
Their full-time lineup has been confirmed for the event, with four cars entered into the rally
The championship leader, Elfyn Evans, will lead the team—and open the road—in Africa ahead of two-time world champion Kalle Rovanpera and Takamoto Katsuta. Sami Pajari will complete the Japanese marquee’s entry.
Hyundai
Hyundai will be looking to get their championship back on track in this event. The South Korean team find themselves trailing Toyota by 48 points in the championship.
As usual, the team will continue their three-car lineup in Kenya.
Fourth in the overall drivers standings, the defending world champion Thierry Neuville will lead the team ahead of Ott Tanak, and Adrien Fourmaux will complete their lineup.
M-Sport Ford
Heading into Kenya, M-Sport Ford will take an expanded driver lineup with a three-car entry for the Cumbrian-based team.
The team will enter Africa with a relatively unchanged lineup from Sweden. The exception to this will be the absence of Martins Sesks, who will miss out on the event as part of his six-rally programme.
Joshua McErlean, the team’s leading championship driver, will join Gregoire Munster, the team’s other full-timer. Greece’s Jourdan Serderidis will complete M-Sport’s entry list.
