Bottas has made a simple statement online as the Finnish driver was present at the Mercedes team kit launch at the Adidas headquarters, in Herzogenaurach, Germany.
The team were in Germany to reveal their 2025 team kits as part of their new partnership with Adidas as the team looks to move on from their Hamilton era.
Bottas, despite not securing a drive on the F1 grid for 2025, having lost his seat at Kick Sauber for the upcoming season, the Finn was present at the launch as the team’s third, and reserve, driver.
On X, the Finn made a short and simple statement as he returned for his next stint with the team. He said:
“I’m back”

Bottas raced for Mercedes between the 2017 and 2021 seasons before he had to move over to Sauber – under both the Alfa Romeo and Stake/Kick Sauber branding – in 2022.
The Finn was then replaced by George Russell who raced alongside the team’s Lewis Hamilton from 2022 to 2024 before the seven-time world champion moved to Ferrari.
During Bottas’ time with the Silver Arrows, the Finnish driver had taken 10 wins, 20 pole positions and 67 podiums, and helped Mercedes to five world constructors championships.
Speaking at the event, Bottas said:
“It has been great to be here at Adidas HQ in Herzogenaurach today. It is such an impressive place and brand.
“The new kit looks cool and, having had a few years away, putting the Mercedes shirt on this morning gave me goosebumps. I love this team, and it is great to be back for 2025.”

Hi, I’m Kamron. I created ApexMotorsports.co.uk in the dying embers of the 2021 Formula 1 world championship. It allowed me freedom to write whatever I wanted to write about which was all things motorsports, my passion.
I have put a lot of effort in over the years to keep this website in its best shape and I’ve loved seeing the brand grow consistently, month-on-month, year-on-year. My ambition is to keep watching this brand grow into a primary outlet of news for all things motorsports whilst fueling my desire to pursue a career in sports journalism, specialising in motorsports.
