On Wednesday, F1 confirmed Moët & Chandon will return to the sport and will replace the current ‘champagne’ of Ferrari Trento in 2025.

The announcement comes as part of the sport’s 10-year agreement with LVMH which has already seen some changes in the sport such as the return of Tag Heuer as F1’s official timekeeper, and Louis Vuitton which became F1’s official partner.

Moët & Chandon will now return to the podium positions, as F1 celebrates its 75th anniversary, and will replace the current sparkling wine of Ferrari Trento which was used from 2021 to 2024.

On the announcement, F1 President and CEO, Stefano Domenicali said:

“The tradition of toasting on the podium is one of the most iconic moments in our sport and we are thrilled to welcome once again Moët & Chandon as the Official Champagne of Formula 1.

“This partnership celebrates the history, emotion and excellence that bind Formula 1 and Moët and Chandon, in a perfect union of performance and refinement in a truly special year that sees us celebrate our 75th anniversary.

“The return of Moët & Chandon to the podium strengthens further the bond of our innovative partnership with LVMH and we cannot wait to toast this extraordinary collaboration together.”

Champagne has become synonymous with F1 since the inaugural season in 1950 and it has had a prominent association with the sport.

Moët & Chandon was previously used within the sport as it celebrated victories of some of F1’s greatest drivers like Sir Jackie Stewart, Ayrton Senna, Niki Lauda, Alain Prost, Mika Hakkinen and Michael Schumacher.

“We are honoured and excited to return as the Official Champagne of Formula 1, celebrating a shared history of collective triumph and dedication since the 1950s,” commented CEO and President of Moët & Chandon, Sibylle Scherer.

“We honour the extraordinary teamwork, the unlimited precision, and the pursuit of excellence that drive both motorsport and our craft.

“This partnership is a tribute to the unity and shared achievements of inspiring drivers, their devoted teams, and the global community that rallies behind them.

“As Moët & Chandon takes its place on the podium once again, we proudly continue to craft moments of celebration that belong to everyone committed to this incredible journey.”

Whilst making a comeback as the official champagne of the sport, Moët & Chandon will also become the title partner of the Belgian Grand Prix in 2025 which will take place on July 25 – 27.

Hi, I'm Kamron. I created ApexMotorsports.co.uk in the dying embers of the 2021 Formula 1 world championship. It allowed me freedom to write whatever I wanted to write about which was all things motorsports, my passion. I have put a lot of effort in over the years to keep this website in its best shape and I've loved seeing the brand grow consistently, month-on-month, year-on-year. My ambition is to keep watching this brand grow into a primary outlet of news for all things motorsports whilst fueling my desire to pursue a career in sports journalism, specialising in motorsports.
