Having taken the rally lead on Friday, Ogier maintains the overall lead going into the final day. He is on the cusp of an unprecedented 10th Monte Carlo win, fulfilling his duty as the Maestro of Monte Carlo.

After the misfortunes of Friday, M-Sport Ford’s Gregoire Munster came back fighting as the Luxembourg driver bounced back to win his first-ever stage on stage 10, pipping the likes of Ogier by 0.8s. Despite an improved performance, Munster could not rejoin the top 10 – finishing the day in 15th.

Hyundai’s Ott Tanak was flying on Saturday. His most impressive victory came at stage 13 as the Estonian blasted his way through the stage and almost beat everyone by double-digits. Only Ogier remained within single digits of Tanak’s time, finishing the stage nine seconds off the pace.

Hyundai’s defending champions, Thierry Neuville and Martijn Wydaeghe continued to have trouble in Monte. They had to do a full reset of the car and later hit a rock face on stage 14.

Going into the final day, Ogier continues to lead ahead of fellow teammate Elfyn Evans and Hyundai’s Adrien Fourmaux. Having taken four stage wins across the day, Tanak takes up fourth place ahead of Toyota’s Kalle Rovanpera in fifth.

Toyota’s Takamoto Katsuta finished the day in sixth ahead of fellow teammate Sami Pajari, in seventh. Neuville and M-Sport Ford’s Joshua McErlean completed the Rally1 competitors inside the top 10, whilst Munster finished 15th.

Nikolay Gryazin rounded out the top 10 – in 10th – to lead the WRC2 category ahead of Yohan Rossell and Gus Greensmith, who finished the day in 12th and 13th respectively.
