Hyundai confirm 2025 line up with Adrien Fourmaux

Hyundai have confirmed Adrien Fourmaux will drive for the South Korean manufacturer alongside Ott Tanak and newly-crowned champion, Thierry Neuville, in a full-time three-car line-up.

On Thursday, Hyundai confirmed their driver line-up for next season which includes the new arrivals of Fourmaux and co-driver, Alexandre Coria who will drive alongside the two championship rivals of 2024; Tanak and Neuville. 

The Frenchman will be the team’s third full-time driver in the third Hyundai and will compete all 14 rounds of the FIA World Rally Championship in 2025. 

Hyundai have described Fourmaux’s arrival will bring ‘fresh energy and capability’ to the Alzenau-based team and he will join the team immediately after the Monza Rally Show (December 5-8). 

This will allow the team to get Fourmaux prepared for the upcoming season immediately with the Rallye Monte-Carlo set to open the season once more in January.

“I’m really excited to join Hyundai Motorsport for the 2025 season,” commented Fourmaux. “It’s a big opportunity for me and Alex, and we are looking forward to getting started with the team. 

“As a driver, you’re always looking to grow and push yourself, and this feels like the right step at the right time. 

“Hyundai has had a strong presence in WRC for years, and I’m proud to be a part of that for the future. I’m ready to give my best and see where this journey takes us.”

Fourmaux had a turbulent introduction to the Rally1 class but the Frenchman stepped back in 2023, competing in Rally2 and claimed the British Rally Championship in 2023. He bounced back in Rally1 in 2024 with strong performances in M-Sport Ford’s Rally1 Puma. 

Hyundai have also confirmed their decision to choose Fourmaux to partner up alongside Neuville and Tanak is to build a more stronger and consistent line-up, with the target of achieving the manufacturers title a feat they nearly achieved in 2024.

The Korean team believe that a permanent third car will allow the team and drivers to ‘build and maintain’ momentum throughout the next season which sees revised regulations. This will aid their championship ambitions for manufacturer glory having just lost the championship over Toyota in Japan, in November. 

On the announcement, Hyundai Motorsport President and Team Principal, Cyril Abiteboul said: 

“Our shared third car approach in 2024 allowed us to deliver one of the team’s strongest years in WRC and I would like to sincerely thank Esapekka, Dani and Andreas for their massive contribution to it. 

“For the renewed challenges of next year, consistency and stability across all three cars will be crucial. We’re therefore delighted to confirm Adrien and Alexandre as part of our team after their incredible 2024 season. 

“Adrien has impressed not only with the results he has achieved this season, but with his renewed mindset and attitude he has brought to his return to Rally1. We believe our line-up of Thierry, Ott and Adrien will be a formidable force on the world’s stages in 2025.”
