F1 returns this week just shy off a month since the Singapore Grand Prix took place and it will resume the championship fight between championship leaders McLaren and Red Bull Racing, and Lando Norris against Max Verstappen.

Last time out, under the lights of the Marina Bay Street Circuit, Norris was uncatchable in Singapore and went on to secure his third win of the season. At the same time, Verstappen finished the race in second, 20 seconds behind, to minimise the damage to his championship.

Importantly, prior to his departure from Visa Cash App RB, Daniel Ricciardo managed to snatch away the fastest lap point from Norris. It’s yet to be seen but that sole point could be crucial for the championship by the chequered flag in Abu Dhabi.

So, according to Met Office, what is the weather looking like this weekend?

Friday

It is expected to be a dry start to the US GP weekend with sunny intervals in Austin for the opening day of the weekend. The temperature are set to rise from 25° at 1pm, halfway through the sole practice session of the weekend due to the sprint format, up to 28° at 4pm.

Whilst it is not expected to rain on Friday, there is a 10% risk of precipitation as the day shifts from morning to afternoon.

Saturday

Saturday stands as a similar day to Friday’s action with sunny intervals set to be the weather feature of the day. The temperature is expected to be around 25° when the action starts with the sprint race at 1pm rising to 28° for qualifying ahead of the main event.

Similarly to Friday, there is another 10% risk of rain for the day starting from 7am all the way to 4pm.

Sunday

Unlike the previous two days, the sun is forecasted to be on full display when the grand prix officially gets underway. With a start time of 2pm, the temperature is set to start at around 25° is expected to rise to 28° as the main race progresses.

Whilst the morning and evening has a 10% of rain on Sunday, during race time this is expected to be less than 5%.
