Formula E renews contract with Julius Baer until 2026

5th December 2022 0 By Kamron Kent

Formula E has renewed its contact with its founder partner, Julius Baer, on a multi-year deal which will see the partnership continue until the end of Season 12 in 2026.

Julius Baer has supported Formula E since its inception, back in 2014, as such the brand has naturally become a global partner to the all-electric series.

The contract extension between the two parties strengthens Julius Baer’s commitment to the franchise and Formula E’s target of improving sustainable human progress.

The founding partner’s ambitions are similar to the sports as they attempt to raise awareness and action regarding ‘climate change and sustainable development.’

In a statement, released by Formula E, Julius Baer’s CEO, Philipp Rickenbacher said:

“As one of Formula E’s founding partners since 2014, it should come as no surprise that we remain enthusiastic about the success of our engagement with the all-electric series.

“We are united with Formula E by a pioneering spirit and an interest in the innovations and megatrends that are shaping our future.”

In addition to the sport’s fast-growing fanbase, the founding partner will also become a title sponsor for the 2023 Sao Paulo E-Prix, in Brazil, on March 25.

Brazil is set to join the likes of Hyderabad (India) and Cape Town (South Africa) as brand new cities to host a race this season.

India will host the fourth round of the championship on February 11 ahead of South Africa (February 25) and Brazil (March 25).

Formula E CEO, Jamie Reigle said:

“Julius Baer has been a valued global partner of Formula E since the beginning and we are delighted this will continue with a multiyear extension through the Gen3 era.

“Together, we remain committed to accelerating change towards an electric future and will be collaborating on a global scale across our races to bring that mission to life.”

The 2023 season is set to mark the beginning of the sports next step forward in developing all-electric racing cars with its first race in Mexico City, on January 14.

The Gen3 car is set to be more efficient, powerful and lighter than its previous generations.
