The Ypres Rally Belgium will make its second WRC appearance after its debut in 2021 with a three-day event between August 18-21, completing the 2022 calendar.
The Belgian rally was confirmed onto the World Rally Championship on Friday (February 18), fulfilling the ninth round spot of the 2022 championship.
This will be the second time Belgium has hosted a WRC event since its debut last year, after it became the 35th country to host a championship event.

In a press release, the managing director of WRC Promoter, Jona Siebel said:
“Belgium brought something quite different to last year’s WRC due to its tricky special stages and fast-paced format, which meant there was little time for anyone to pause for breath.
“The Ypres region whole-heartedly throws itself into rally week. There’s a great buzz out on the stages and we’re sure that will be replicated in the town itself this time round when fans will be allowed in the beautiful Grote Markt service park.”
The asphalt event fills the gap which was left to be decided on the calendar. With narrow farm roads, tight junctions and drainage ditches make Ypres one of the toughest European rally.
Last season, Hyundai’s Thierry Neuville secured the win on home soil after the Belgian led the majority of the weekend.
Will the home hero be able to make it two-for-two?
