Red Bull has confirmed on Wednesday that Hadjar will not be taking part in Formula 1’s resumption this weekend, at the Dutch Grand Prix, after sustaining a wrist injury during the summer break.

As such, Red Bull has confirmed Liam Lawson will return to the team this weekend, having competed for the outfit for two races in 2025 before being demoted to Racing Bulls.

In an official statement, Red Bull confirmed:

“Hadjar has sustained a wrist injury during summer shutdown that will prevent him from racing at the 2026 Dutch Grand Prix.

“We will be welcoming back Lawson who will replace him in RB22 this weekend.

“The Team wishes Isack a speedy recovery and thanks Liam for stepping in on short notice.”

Lawson will step up to join his former teammate, Max Verstappen, whom will be enjoying his final home race before the Dutch GP leaves the sport in 2027.

Due to the New Zealander’s departure, his seat will be temporarily filled by Yuki Tsunoda.

The Japanese driver did race in the sport, last year, for Red Bull Racing – having replaced Lawson at the senior squad – but was later reassigned to a test and reserve driver role for both Red Bull-backed teams.

Tsunoda will now partner Racing Bull’s impressive rookie, Arvid Lindblad, for the upcoming race weekend.

On the announcement, Racing Bulls said:

“We thank both Liam and Yuki for their adaptability as the teams prepare for the weekend and we wish Isack a speedy recovery.”
