Memento Exclusives, operating F1 Authentics, confirmed that Bottas’ race-worn helmet from this year’s season-opener at the Australian Grand Prix will be auctioned off.
It has quickly become a collector’s piece for a handful of reasons, more notably being a race-worn helmet from the actual driver himself at the Australian race, who is one of the sport’s most popular and recognised drivers.
It also stands as the first race-day helmet to be auctioned for the team, in Cadillac’s first-ever race weekend. Being the first helmet of a driver at Cadillac’s first-ever grand prix as a competitor gives the helmet ‘historic relevance and lasting collector appeal,’ according to F1 Authentics.
During the Australian GP, Bottas – and his auctioned helmet – had an abrupt end to their first race of the season, and the team’s career, as Bottas retired on lap 15 with a fuel injection problem, after qualifying 19th overall.
Only the team’s other driver, Sergio Perez, finished the team’s first race in 16th place
On the news of his helmet being auctioned, Bottas said:
“My race worn helmet from Melbourne this year. My first ever race for Cadillac (and) my first ever race for GM. A big moment for me, making my return to Formula One®, this piece is something special and now, it could be yours.
“It will be auctioned by F1 Authentics, which is the only licensed platform, during the Miami weekend, so check it out. It’s a really important piece for me and its going to be amazing to share it with you.”
It is reported that the helmet is available to be bid against for collectors at the time-limited F1 Authentics Miami GP Auction, running from Friday, April 24 to Tuesday, May 5.
Memento Exclusives confirmed it is rare for any race-used helmet to become available in the same season, and Bottas’ 2026 Australian GP helmet remains even rarer due to its ‘immediate historical significance and lasting collector appeal.’

At the time of writing (April 27, 09:20am), the helmet is up for bids and is currently sitting at £4,000 (around $4,723 US Dollars) with under 14 days still left to be bidded on.

Hi, I’m Kamron. I created ApexMotorsports.co.uk in the dying embers of the 2021 Formula 1 world championship. It allowed me freedom to write whatever I wanted to write about which was all things motorsports, my passion.
I have put a lot of effort in over the years to keep this website in its best shape and I’ve loved seeing the brand grow consistently, month-on-month, year-on-year. My ambition is to keep watching this brand grow into a primary outlet of news for all things motorsports whilst fueling my desire to pursue a career in sports journalism, specialising in motorsports.
