A total of 59 crews are set to contest the rally around the Canary Island of Gran Canaria, where they will compete for top honours across 300km set over 18 stages in the event.
Of this, there will be 10 Rally1 crews, with Daniel Sordo set to make his 2026 debut for the Hyundai squad as part of the team’s rotating third car.
The event will be the second consecutive European rally, following the Croatia Rally on April 10-12, and it will take place ahead of the sport’s jump to mainland Europe for Rally Portugal before heading off to Japan.
So, who is set to compete in the Rally Islas Canarias?
Toyota
Toyota is expected to bring an extended line-up with five crews, after only taking four cars to Croatia, as Sebastien Ogier will return to the fold after missing the Croatian event.
The rest of the Japanese squad will consist of Elfyn Evans, Oliver Solberg and Takamoto Katsuta – who will not score manufacturer points. Sami Pajari will round out the Toyota entry list for the WRT2 team.
Hyundai
The South Korean squad will bring their usual three-car entry with Adrien Fourmaux leading the way ahead of 2024 world champion Thierry Neuville, maintaining Hyundai’s consistent presence.
As previously mentioned, Sordo will make his season debut in the event, completing the Hyundai entries. He will make his first appearance this season due to the rotating third car, which Hayden Paddon and Esapekka Lappi have already driven.
M-Sport Ford
M-Sport Ford is set to bring only its Irish pair, Joshua McErlean and Jon Armstrong, as the Cumbrian squad has confirmed only two entries for the Canary Island rally.
