The Briton has had a great start to the season, taking the victory in the season opener in São Paulo, before following it up with three points finishes in the next three races.
Dennis is sitting eighth in the standings, level on points with last time outs winner, António Félix da Costa. Dennis looked set to extend his points scoring streak at the second race in Jeddah, before an early puncture led him to finish the ePrix in 19th.
Jake Dennis made his debut in Formula E exactly five years ago, the 26th of February 2021, driving for the Andretti team that he has driven for ever since. He took his first victory in the second 2021 Valencia ePrix, with the Briton having a good chance to win the title in his debut season until he crashed out of the season finale Berlin ePrix on lap two to hand the title to Nyck de Vries, with Dennis ultimately finishing third overall.
Dennis would eventually taste championship glory with his taking the Formula E World Championship in 2023. Throughout the season he would finish on the podium in 11 out of the 16 races, winning in both Mexico City and Rome. Before being crowned champion at his home race in London, over Kiwis Nick Cassidy and Mitch Evans who finished second and third respectively..
Jake Dennis stated his delight that he is re-signing with Andretti Global, “The belief the team has shown in me over the years has been incredible, and that trust means a huge amount”.
Team principal Roger Griffiths echoed Dennis’ comments: “His commitment to us, his belief in the team and ours in him, is one of the key reasons for all of the success we have been fortunate enough to have experienced together”.
The inaugural Madrid ePrix in March will be the first for Dennis under his new contract.
