Russell has dominated the streets of Singapore as the Briton converted his pole position on the grid to race victory. The Mercedes driver never looked under threat from the get-go after a good start off the line to keep Red Bull’s Max Verstappen at bay, edging over a second ahead of the Dutchman by the end of the first lap.
As the Briton continued to edge out his lead, it left Verstappen to contend with the two McLarens of Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri.
There was a brief moment between the two McLarens as Norris clipped the rear of Verstappen on the exit of turn three, which forced him into the path of Piastri. The Australian was not too pleased with that, voicing his frustration over the team radio.
However, the battle for second place was set between Verstappen and Norris. Norris pitted later than Verstappen, as the latter started on the softs rather than the mediums for Norris. As such, the McLaren quickly chased down the reigning world champion.

Despite his best efforts, Norris was not able to pass the Dutchman and Verstappen sealed second place ahead of Norris, who finished third. Piastri, despite his frustration against the opening lap incident, finished fourth.
With a third and fourth finish for McLaren, a total of 27 points secured, it meant that McLaren now cannot be caught for the remainder of the season and stands as the 2025 World Constructors’ Champions. It marks the first successive title-winning season for the Woking-based team since the 1988-1991 seasons.
In the drivers’ championship, Piastri has had his advantage cut down further after finishing behind both of his championship rivals. As such, he holds a 22-point lead over Norris and continues to lead 63 points ahead of Verstappen.
Next up is Austin, Texas, for the United States Grand Prix on October 17-19.
