McLaren looked fairly dominant all weekend with Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri topping practice, but Max Verstappen managed to take the top spot on the grid in qualifying for the race.
The Suzuka Circuit is a happy hunting ground with the Dutchman, who has not lost a race here since it returned to the calendar after the Coronavirus Pandemic in 2022. He will be accompanied by the two McLarens of Norris and Piastri just behind.
William’s Carlos Sainz caused a change to the grid following his three-place grid drop to the grid, following the qualifying result. This came after he impeded Ferrari’s Lewis Hamilton into turn one during Q2.
