China returns to the calendar for the second consecutive season following its return last year. Last time out, Red Bull’s Max Verstappen took victory ahead of McLaren’s Lando Norris and teammate, Sergio Perez.
This year, instead of being round five of the championship, it’s the second round of the calendar as part of F1’s attempt at meeting their net-zero ambitions.
Whilst the Australian Grand Prix, last weekend, experienced mixed weather conditions across the weekend with two dry days and a wet race day, it’s expected to be a dry weekend in Shanghai—according to BBC Weather.
The early weather reports
The opening two days of the weekend, which will host the first sprint qualifying and race sessions of the season, are expected to be clear sunny days with temperatures ranging from 19° to 22° on Friday, and 21° and 24° on Saturday.
On Sunday, the weather is expected to change but remain fairly similar with dry conditions. The forecast has predicted sunny intervals with temperatures at race time to be 25° and will drop to 24° by the chequered flag.
Across all three days, there is expected to be no chance of rain.
