It was a dramatic start to the F1 season at Melbourne’s Albert Park as two red flags stopped running in the first hour of practice in 2025.
The session was first red-flagged at its halfway mark. Race control sent out a road sweeper to clear away gravel at the modified turn six after gravel was kicked out across the circuit. It was only a brief stop.
The second red flag was brought out after Haas’ Oliver Bearman crashed at turns nine and 10. The Briton ran over the gravel trap on the corner exit and lost control.
His car spun out and slapped into the barrier, severely damaging the car. Thankfully, Bearman was okay and climbed out of the car.
