Four F1 things to look forward to in 2025
6th January 2025The new year is in full swing and Formula 1 is still enjoying a well-deserved break before the action kicks off again in Melbourne, in March, but what are four things to look forward to in 2025?

#1 – F1 Launch at O2
In a one-of-a-kind move by the sport, to celebrate its 75th anniversary, all 10 teams and 20 drivers have agreed to host a big party to reveal all of their car liveries on the same day. Usually, car reveals are done over two weeks at the team’s choosing but this year, all will be revealed at the same time.
It will give people the opportunity, at London’s O2, to attend the potentially once-in-a-lifetime event which will feature special guests, the team principals and drivers. For those who cannot attend in person, the event will be live-streamed for all to see.
#2 – A titanic championship title fight
As 2025 marks the end of the current state of regulations in Formula 1 before they’re overhauled for 2026 with new dimensions and power units, the competition looks loser than ever and we could be in for a titanic championship fight.
It means we could have a series of teams fighting it out on an event-by-event basis for the constructor’s title and multiple drivers in the fight for the driver’s championship.
Last year proved it as Red Bull looked to continue from where they left in 2023 but their competition closed in rapidly as the season progressed and ultimately challenged for both titles. This upcoming season could be one for the ages.

#3 – Lewis Hamilton in Ferrari red
In a blockbuster announcement in 2024, everyone and their grandmother’s cat have been waiting patiently for Lewis Hamilton to move over to Ferrari after a lacklustre three seasons at Mercedes. Whilst the contract was signed and agreed upon, Hamilton officially became a Ferrari driver at midnight on New Year’s Eve.
Since then, even Ferrari has teased the seven-time world champion’s arrival with the new names on their ‘dressing room’ door sign which states their two drivers’ names for the upcoming season. However, the team have not posted any pictures yet with Hamilton in his new race suit.
The new partnership between Hamilton and Leclerc will be an intriguing one and one which could drive the team forward to finally secure championship glory, as both drivers push each other.
#4 – F1 (2025)
The final entry on this list, naturally, is the officially named Formula 1 movie: F1. The much-anticipated Formula 1 movie will be released internationally on June 25, 2025, and in North America two days later, on June 27, 2025.
The film, filmed at real F1 events, is directed by Joseph Kosinski and produced by Jerry Bruckheimer, the film’s star Brad Pitt and now-Ferrari driver Hamilton. The plot sees Pitt’s character, Sonny Hayes, return to F1 to race for the sport’s fictional 11th team APXGP, alongside Damson Idris’ Joshua Pearce.
Formula 1 and Apple Original Films released the initial teaser trailer of the film at the 2024 British Grand Prix, which can be watched here. It will be a welcome change from solely watching Netflix’s Drive to Survive to get your F1 fix.

Hi, I’m Kamron. I created ApexMotorsports.co.uk in the dying embers of the 2021 Formula 1 world championship. It allowed me freedom to write whatever I wanted to write about which was all things motorsports, my passion.
I have put a lot of effort in over the years to keep this website in its best shape and I’ve loved seeing the brand grow consistently, month-on-month, year-on-year. My ambition is to keep watching this brand grow into a primary outlet of news for all things motorsports whilst fueling my desire to pursue a career in sports journalism, specialising in motorsports.
