Artificial intelligence has improved over the years and it’s no doubt going to improve as the years continue to progress and we – and our technology – evolve. One revolutionary piece of software of late has been ChatGPT, an AI platform, which according to CNN ‘wowed’ the public with its ‘human-sounding’ conversations.

With the festivities all and done for the season, until November, and the Formula 1 season fast approaching, everyone and their grandmother’s cat are producing bold predictions on what will happen for the upcoming season which is a fun prospect and something to fill in the gap of the winter off-season break.

On the spur of thought, what does AI predict for the much-promised upcoming thriller of a season?

We have asked ChatGPT that question to answer specific questions such as who will; win the driver title, win the constructors title, get the most podiums, win the most and finish last. Some of the answers have been… enlightening, here are the answers:

The last and 10th Constructor: Haas F1

According to ChatGPT, the AI believes that sixth-placed Haas F1 will drop down the field in 2025 and expects the American team to finish the team last. It claims that recent performance trends and the all-new driver line-up of Oliver Bearman and Esteban Ocon will hinder the team’s performance and result in them finishing last of the order.

The most improved team: Ferrari

Well, if they become the most improved team, surely a tough fought-and-won title fight is on the cards for the most famous Formula 1 team? ChatGPT claims that significant changes at Ferrari, including the arrival of Lewis Hamilton with the fastest one-lap driver in the sport, suggests the Italian Prancing Horse could make ‘substantial progress compared to previous seasons.’

Most Podiums: Lando Norris

With McLaren taking home the world championship in 2024, it would be difficult to suggest McLaren may be fighting at the sharp end of the grid. This is what the AI platform predicts as it claims Lando Norris will take the most podiums across the season, anticipating another strong season from McLaren.

Most wins across the season: Max Verstappen

The four-time world champion broke records in 2023 as he took home the most amount of wins in a season with 19 taken across the season. He followed this up nine wins in 2024, the most for the season. In 2025, ChatGPT predicts Verstappen will continue his winning form to take the most wins for the season as it cites the Dutchman’s talent to make him the strongest contender.

Constructors Champion: McLaren

After a 24 year drought of championship glory, McLaren finally ended that streak in the season finale in Abu Dhabi. Based on this, the AI believes McLaren will be strong contenders to ‘maintain its momentum and potentially dominate’ the upcoming season to take back-to-back championships.

Drivers champion: Lewis Hamilton or Charles Leclerc

When deciding on the drivers champion, ChatGPT seems to be undecided in a sense on who will individually win the drivers title, whilst deciding which team the winning driver will race for. It predicts a Ferrari driver will win the championship with either Charles Leclerc or Lewis Hamilton.

It believes that Leclerc’s chances of winning the championship will be built upon the teams ‘strong finish in 2024’ whilst Hamilton’s opportunity will come if the Scuderia can provide the seven-time world champion with a competitive car.
