After Sargeant was dropped for the team, it was quickly announced that Franco Colapinto would replace the departing American at Williams Racing for the remainder of the F1 season.

At the same time, this left a hole for MP Motorsport to fill with four race weekends remaining; Italy, Azerbaijan, Qatar and Abu Dhabi. MP have opted for Oliver Goethe to partner up alongside Dennis Hauger at the team for the remaining rounds of 2024

The German 19-year-old has enjoyed two seasons in the lower echelon of F1’s feeder series. He finished 19th in his debut season, having competed in four races in 2022, and this was followed by an eighth-placed finish in his first full season, in 2023.

Goethe will graduate from Formula 3 where he currently stands seventh in the driver’s standings.

On Thursday, Campos confirmed that Noah Strømsted will replace Goethe at Campos racing for the final F3 race weekend of 2024, in Monza. The Danish driver will team up with Mari Boya and Sebastián Montoya this weekend.

Hi, I'm Kamron. I created ApexMotorsports.co.uk in the dying embers of the 2021 Formula 1 world championship. It allowed me freedom to write whatever I wanted to write about which was all things motorsports, my passion. I have put a lot of effort in over the years to keep this website in its best shape and I've loved seeing the brand grow consistently, month-on-month, year-on-year. My ambition is to keep watching this brand grow into a primary outlet of news for all things motorsports whilst fueling my desire to pursue a career in sports journalism, specialising in motorsports.
