Norris stands as the fastest driver at the end of FP3, at the Hungarian Hungaroring, with Oscar Piastri just behind him.

The session went through the final hour without interruption, unlike FP2 yesterday, but there was a sole yellow flag as a result of Lewis Hamilton’s spin.

In the latter stages of the session, Hamilton was pushing on the soft tyres and he lost control on the exit of turn nine which sent him spinning off the track. Thankfully, he was able to keep it out of the barrier and continue on.

How the second practice finished

Norris put in a belter of a lap to go to the top of the timing boards as the British driver nearly went into the 1m 15s benchmark. However, the #4 McLaren could only muster a time of 1m 16.098s.

Piastri and Verstappen found themselves just behind in second and third respectively, with a maximum time of two-tenths off the leading McLaren’s time.

George Russell, of Mercedes, was best of the rest down in fourth as Ferrari’s Carlos Sainz completed the top five in fifth.

Daniel Ricciardo wrapped up practice as the fastest RB driver, in sixth, whilst his teammate, Yuki Tsuonda finished ninth. Alexander Albon (Williams) and Nico Hulkenberg (Haas) were sandwiched in between the two drivers in seventh and eighth,

Following his spin late on, Hamilton could only manage 10th overall – six-tenths off the pace.

After a troublesome FP2, when Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc crashed out, the Monegasque could only manage 11th ahead of Valtteri Bottas (Kick Sauber) and Sergio Perez (Red Bull) who finished 12th and 13th.

The two Aston Martin’s of Fernando Alonso and Lance Stroll completed the top 15, in 14th and 15th respectively.

Logan Sargeant, of Williams, led the bottom five after FP3 as the American driver finished ahead of Kick Sauber’s Zhou Guanyu.

The Alpine duo of Pierre Gasly and Esteban Ocon found themselves at the bottom of the timing sheet, in 18th and 20th. Haas’ Kevin Magnussen found himself sandwiched in between the two drivers, in 19th.
