On Tuesday, Williams announced they would run a one-off livery for their home race at the British Grand Prix, as part of their ‘home race celebration events.’

The car will remain relatively unchanged with one big detail being changed on the car, drawing the viewer’s eye: the Union Jack.

The official flag of the United Kingdom is set to be the centrepiece of the new bespoke delivery at the British GP, with the names of all 1,005 team members making up the flag.

All of the team member’s names will be written in the iconic red, white and blue colours to incorporate the design on the engine cover. This pays respect to those who have worked tirelessly to help Williams pump in the performances they have been over the season.

According to the statement, Williams F1 said:

“The team have repeatedly demonstrated exceptional teamwork and resilience under pressure this season, and the livery pays tribute to the enormous human effort it takes to race in Formula 1.”

In addition to the big change to the chassis of the car, the team will also make one more change to it. Their team partner THG, who are based in Manchester, will see their Myprotein brand being featured on the rear wing, as a one-off at the British GP.

Hi, I'm Kamron. I created ApexMotorsports.co.uk in the dying embers of the 2021 Formula 1 world championship. It allowed me freedom to write whatever I wanted to write about which was all things motorsports, my passion. I have put a lot of effort in over the years to keep this website in its best shape and I've loved seeing the brand grow consistently, month-on-month, year-on-year. My ambition is to keep watching this brand grow into a primary outlet of news for all things motorsports whilst fueling my desire to pursue a career in sports journalism, specialising in motorsports.
