Meguetounif secures maiden F3 win at Emilia-Romagna Feature Race
19th May 2024Trident’s Sami Meguetounif secured his first-ever Formula 3 win as he secured victory at the Emili-Romagna Feature Race.
Meguetounif started the race in third, the last of the Trident trio who occupied 1-2-3, behind Santiago Ramos and Leonardo Fornaroli.
As Fornaroli applied the pressure on Ramos into the opening corners, Meguetounif was forced to maintain his position as he ran third. Still, he was put under some pressure by Prema Racing’s Arvid Lindblad in fourth.
The eventual race winner eventually lost track position as he was passed by Campos’ Oliver Goethe who quickly climbed the order Ramos and Fornaroli – when his power unit cut out on lap six.
However, Meguetounif was able to climb back up the order placing Ramos under pressure for second at the halfway point. It wasn’t long before the move for second was completed and the race-winner shifted focus onto Goethe.
On lap 18, aided with DRS down the pit straight, Meguetounif completed the move for the race lead down into the Tamburello Chicane.
Fornaroli, who had climbed back up to third, looked to make it a Trident 1-2 but he couldn’t find an acceptable opportunity to overtake Goethe for the runner-up position.
Meguetounif went on to secure victory with 2.7s in hand over Goethe who split the two Trident’s on the podium. Formula 3 championship leader, Fornaroli rounded out the podium half-a-second behind the second-place Campos.

Hi, I’m Kamron. I created ApexMotorsports.co.uk in the dying embers of the 2021 Formula 1 world championship. It allowed me freedom to write whatever I wanted to write about which was all things motorsports, my passion.
I have put a lot of effort in over the years to keep this website in its best shape and I’ve loved seeing the brand grow consistently, month-on-month, year-on-year. My ambition is to keep watching this brand grow into a primary outlet of news for all things motorsports whilst fueling my desire to pursue a career in sports journalism, specialising in motorsports.
