Ferrari dawn new livery ahead of Miami GP

Ferrari is set to dawn a new livery, with shades of blue, ahead of the Miami Grand Prix to mark their 70th anniversary in the North American market.

The SF-24 will incorporate historic shades of blue back into the team’s colour scheme, ahead of the Miami Grand prix, after an absence of 50 years.

These colours, Azzurro La Plata and Azzurro Dino were ‘part of daily life in Maranello,’ and will be used to celebrate the team’s 70th anniversary on the North American Market.

“The upcoming Miami Grand Prix will be one to remember in the history of our team,” said Ferrari Team Principal Fred Vasseur. “In Florida we will be celebrating our heritage through a unique livery, rediscovering two colours that are part of our history. It will also be a very special race as we are glad to welcome the arrival of our new title partner HP.”

The historic shades of blue will be plastered in different sections of the car such as the; wings, halo, rear-view mirrors, race numbers and wheel rims.

The change on the rims is a nod to the sixties when John Surtees secured the world championship with the 158 F1, in North America, 60 years ago.

Most Ferrari team members, including their drivers Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz, will wear a special team kit in Miami. This kit will primarily be in Azzurro La Plata with splashes of Azzuro Dino, including all of the driver’s clothes.

That will not be the only change for the team as the iconic F1 team recently announced the arrival of their title partner, HP.

As such, the Italian manufacturer will be known as Scuderia Ferrari HP for the remainder of the season. This will also be extended to the team’s F1 Academy car, piloted by Maya Weug, which returns this weekend.
