In the week ahead of the iconic Finnish rally, it was announced that Vincent Landais will not be competing alongside his co-defending champion, Ogier.

It was announced the French co-driver will not be in attendance at the event for personal reasons.

Ingrassia’s return will be the first time the two contenders have joined together since the 2021 Monza Rally, where Ogier clinched his eighth world title of championship contender and teammate, Elfyn Evans.

In an announcement, Ogier said:

“Unfortunately, not with Vincent, for personal reasons. He won’t be able to join the rally this week. But, therefore, I’m very happy that my old friend Julien, accepted to take back the seat on my right and will be my co-driver for the week.

“So, yeah, looking forward to somehow reunite this old relationship.”

The reunion between the two parties will be one treasured in history, with Ingrassia returning to the sport where he has enjoyed 168 starts in the WRC, all of which competed with Ogier.

Since his departure, Ingrassia has remained part of the WRC landscape, working alongside the media at events and taking up a role of chairman of the World Rally Drivers Association (WoRDA).

Commenting on the return to co-driving, standing next to Ogier, Ingrassia continued:

“Being here in Finland is going to be a unique challenge for me but I am really happy to join you Seb.”
