On Wednesday, Netflix confirmed the eighth season of the popular TV documentary series, Formula 1: Drive to Survive, is set to arrive on the platform on February 27, 2026.
It follows behind-the-scenes of the 2025 F1 world championship, with the McLaren pair of Oscar Piastri and Lando Norris fighting it out for championship victory, before the latter came out on top.
Including a late resurgence from Red Bull’s four-time world champion Max Verstappen, who made a late and unsuccessful bid for the title.
However, the title fight was not the only talking point of the season.
George Russell made an unlikely challenge for the title before his chances were snuffed out late in the championship, whilst rookie teammate, Kimi Antonelli, put in a decent rookie season with his maiden podium finish in Canada, bouncing back after early rookie mistakes.
Nico Hulkenberg, of Kick Sauber – now Audi, finally broke his duck for a podium finish as the German driver claimed third place at the British Grand Prix to take home his first ever podium finish in the sport.
For Hulkenberg, it was his first podium in 15 seasons and 239 race starts.
The new season will land on the streaming platform just before the 2026 season opener, the Australian Grand Prix, in Melbourne, on March 6-8, 2026.

Hi, I’m Kamron. I created ApexMotorsports.co.uk in the dying embers of the 2021 Formula 1 world championship. It allowed me freedom to write whatever I wanted to write about which was all things motorsports, my passion.
I have put a lot of effort in over the years to keep this website in its best shape and I’ve loved seeing the brand grow consistently, month-on-month, year-on-year. My ambition is to keep watching this brand grow into a primary outlet of news for all things motorsports whilst fueling my desire to pursue a career in sports journalism, specialising in motorsports.
