Having trailed Elfyn Evans going into the season finale by three points, Ogier has overcome the minor deficit to claim his ninth world title in the World Rally Championship.

Ogier’s ninth title now ties him with his fellow countryman, Sebastien Loeb, on the all-time record of the sport.

Third place was enough for Ogier to take the title at the end of the power stage as his closest title rival, Elfyn Evans, finished in sixth to seal second place in the drivers’ standings.

The championship victory is also a maiden title win for Ogier’s co-driver Vincent Landias, who joined the nine-time world champion in 2022.

2025 marks an incredible season for the French duo after competing in a part-time schedule this season, missing only three rallies this year: Sweden, Kenya and Estonia.

They finish the season on 293 points, to take the championship lead and victory, four points ahead of Evans.

Whilst the championship fight was the focal point of the weekend, Neuville sealed his first win of the season, and the Belgian became the first winner of the WRCs event in Saudi Arabia.

The outgoing champion avoided trouble where the others suffered punctures across the puncture-prone terrain.

Hyundai’s Adrien Fourmaux finished second, behind his teammate, ruing an early check-in penalty which slapped him with a one-minute time penalty. Ogier completed the podium in third.

Hi, I'm Kamron. I created ApexMotorsports.co.uk in the dying embers of the 2021 Formula 1 world championship. It allowed me freedom to write whatever I wanted to write about which was all things motorsports, my passion. I have put a lot of effort in over the years to keep this website in its best shape and I've loved seeing the brand grow consistently, month-on-month, year-on-year. My ambition is to keep watching this brand grow into a primary outlet of news for all things motorsports whilst fueling my desire to pursue a career in sports journalism, specialising in motorsports.
