Aron has been part of the Alpine team since they picked him up in December, last year, and has helped with both 2025 and 2026 car development work.
The team have confirmed they came to an agreement with Kick Sauber for Aron’s driving services and will take part in the remaining two FP1 sessions for the Swiss outfit.
His first session for Sauber will be at this weekend’s British Grand Prix, at Silverstone, before he returns to the cockpit of the team’s C45 at the Hungarian Grand Prix, completing the team’s mandatory requirement.
“I am very pleased to be given the opportunity to have valuable track time in Formula One, so thanks to BWT Alpine Formula One Team for coming to this arrangement,” said Aron.
“It is no secret that my desire is to one day race full-time in Formula One so any chance to be on track in a competitive environment is an important stepping stone.
“While I continue to focus on my development with Alpine, I do look forward to the two sessions with Stake F1 Team KICK Sauber and giving my maximum effort to them at Silverstone and Budapest.”
Alpine have said Paul remain a ‘key member’ of the team as he continues career development in revelavant machinery, such as the testing of previous cars programme in the 2023-spec A523.
The Ecclestone-based team also confirmed in the announcement that Paul, in addition to his Sauber outings, will complete Alpine’s remaining three mandatory rookie sessions this year.
Announcements of these FP1 sessions are to be confirmed in due course.
“It is in our interests to maximise any driving opportunities for our young talent, so it is good to have an agreement with Sauber for Paul to drive in Free Practice 1 in Silverstone and Budapest,” said Executive Advisor Flavio Briatore.
“We are seeing varied success from last year’s Formula 2 drivers this year up and down the grid, and Paul was a front runner in that category, so this is an opportunity for him and the team to continue his progress and to give him valuable track time.”

Hi, I’m Kamron. I created ApexMotorsports.co.uk in the dying embers of the 2021 Formula 1 world championship. It allowed me freedom to write whatever I wanted to write about which was all things motorsports, my passion.
I have put a lot of effort in over the years to keep this website in its best shape and I’ve loved seeing the brand grow consistently, month-on-month, year-on-year. My ambition is to keep watching this brand grow into a primary outlet of news for all things motorsports whilst fueling my desire to pursue a career in sports journalism, specialising in motorsports.
