For the first time in their careers, Hyundai’s Thierry Neuville and Martijn Wyadeghe will embark on the 2025 season as the sports’ defending champions after winning the championship in Japan last month.

However, the Belgian crew will be under pressure from the remaining drivers to defend their title, including returning two-time world champions Kalle Rovanpera and Jonne Halttunen.

The sport will also undertake a revised points system which will see a driver being able to score a maximum of 35 points in a single event.

The overall rally leader will take home 25 points but they will have the opportunity to score another 10 from both Super Sunday (five) and Wolf Power Stage (five) points.

Whilst Monte-Carlo will host the season opener as per tradition, the 14-event season will also return to Spain and Estonia whilst welcoming three new rallies: the Canary Islands, Paraguay and Saudi Arabia.

So, with four asphalt events, nine gravel rounds and one snow rally, what does the 2025 WRC calendar look like?

Hi, I'm Kamron. I created ApexMotorsports.co.uk in the dying embers of the 2021 Formula 1 world championship. It allowed me freedom to write whatever I wanted to write about which was all things motorsports, my passion. I have put a lot of effort in over the years to keep this website in its best shape and I've loved seeing the brand grow consistently, month-on-month, year-on-year. My ambition is to keep watching this brand grow into a primary outlet of news for all things motorsports whilst fueling my desire to pursue a career in sports journalism, specialising in motorsports.
