Gregoire Munster crashes out in Rally Finland on SS11
3rd August 2024M-Sport Ford’s Gregoire Munster went off on Stage 11 in Rally Finland, causing a temporary red flag, but the crew were okay.

Västilä opened up the action on Saturday morning and Toyota’s Takamoto Katsuta was the first crew to venture out onto the 18.94km speed test, having rejoined the event after his crash yesterday.
Munster was the third car out on track due to the road order, behind both rejoining drivers of Katsuta and Hyundai’s Esapekka Lappi.
However, 4.6km into the stage, the crew had a big moment as he understeered wide on the exit of a left-hand corner, and the Ford Puma suffered significant damage following a roll in the ditch.
The crew reported that they were okay and M-Sport has now confirmed they will not continue today.
Following the incident, a red flag was quickly brought out, impacting Toyota’s Sami Pajari behind them as the fans helped Munster and Louis Louka push the Puma out of the ditch and into a safer area.
As a result, Munster’s Puma blocked the road with just enough space to allow Pajari by. The Finnish Toyota driver will receive a nominal time as a result of the red flag.
When Munster’s Puma was pushed to safety, the stage resumed and Toyota’s Kalle Rovanpera took the stage win ahead of teammates Elfyn Evans and Sebastien Ogier.
