Cara Delevingne responds after British GP Martin Brundle Grid Walk
10th July 2023Cara Delevingne has responded on social media following backlash when she refused to speak to Martin Brundle on the grid, ahead of the British Grand Prix.
Delevingne, 30, has responded online after she had an awkward moment with, former racer, Martin Brundle where she refused to be interviewed on the grid.
Brundle, 64, who once raced in Formula 1 from 1984 to 1996, covered the pre-event action down on the grid for Sky Sports F1 with his iconic Gridwalk.
Following discussions with Actress Florence Pugh and Singer/Songwriter Liam Payne, Brundle approached the supermodel but he was subtly snubbed by an ‘F1 representative,’ according to Delevingne, who said she didn’t want to talk.

Undeterred Brundle still attempted to obtain a conversation stating; ‘That’s the deal now, everybody talks on the grid.’
Initially, Delevingne said ‘no’ when Brundle introduced himself before the former racer restated that ‘everyone talks on the grid.’ Despite Brundle’s attempts, Delevingne continued to say no, even stating she ‘can’t hear anything, sorry.’
After being refused for an interview, Brundle quipped: ‘Okay, alright, well, I’m sure it would’ve been extremely interesting.’
Delevingne later reposted a tweet, on Twitter, which stated Brundle had attempted the interview to ‘manufacture the moment for the controversy of it all.’
The tweet stated:
“At this point, Martin Brundle is just doing it to manufacture the moment for the controversy of it all. You can clearly see the PR rep tell him ‘no’ and shake his head when he goes up towards Cara Delevingne.
“He had an out and he chose not to take it to make a statement.”
To which Delevingne responded:
“I was told to say no so I did. Thank you for seeing both sides xxx”
There was a mix of backlash after the incident, some fans were outraged that Delevingne refused to speak to Brundle on the grid while some believed she had a right to say no.
