F1TV has unveiled new updates for fans ahead of 2023 season

Formula 1 has announced a variety of new features to the F1TV Pro platform for fans to use, while unveiling its presenter line-up ahead of the 2023 season.

F1 have reported a record-breaking season for 2022 for their F1TV platform as it saw more than 115 million hours of footage streamed across the app.

As a result of the numbers, the sport will implement new features for the upcoming season to help deliver the drama and excitement of the sport.

New features will be introduced to the F1 TV Pro applications in a bid to improve its fan-viewing experience ahead of the 2023 season.

These include:

  • Continue Watching – fans can pick up where they left off on their favourite F1 content across any device.
  • Watch Live or From Start – This option allows the fan to choose whether they want to watch the race, spoiler-free, or watch it live.
  • Search – fans can now search for their favourite F1 content without having to scroll through the F1 archives.
  • Live Now – F1 TV will now send fans notifications when a Live session is about to start.

Director of Media Rights and Content Creation at F1, Ian Holmes said:

“Since 2018, F1 TV has grown to become a best-in-class broadcast service for fans in many parts of the world, offering unfiltered access on track and top-quality technical analysis in the paddock.

“This year’s exciting presenter line-up and new features further enhance the fan experience and demonstrate Formula 1’s ongoing commitment to produce premium content for our fans.”

Will Buxton will return to F1TV as lead presenter alongside co-presenters Laura Winter, Rosanna Tennant and Lawrence Baretto. For commentary, Alex Jacques will lead the team supported by Jolyon Palmer and James Hinchcliffe.

Former F1 driver, Channel 4 pundit and F1 Ambassador, David Coulthard will provide commentary for a number of races as Sam Collins returns to the platform as the app’s technical analyst.

Speaking on expansion, Holmes continued:

“As we look to expand F1 TV to new markets around the world, we will continue to explore new and innovative ways to successfully capture the spectacle and entertainment of Formula 1.”

F1 TV was originally launched back in 2018 and is marked as F1’s biggest investment in its digital transformation which has ushered in a new era for the fan-viewing experience.

At the moment, F1TV is available in 118 countries while the pro version is available in 89 countries.
