Binotto rumours are ‘without foundation’ says Ferrari

Ferrari have stated the rumours, regarding a potential change in management – particularly Mattia Binotto, are ‘without foundation.’

Granted, it hasn’t been the best season for Ferrari. Errors across the season, in both operational and strategic capacities, have put Binotto under significant pressure following two – relatively – poor seasons.

Reports have now emerged stating Ferrari are rumoured to sack Binotto at the end of the season to make way for Alfa Romeo’s Team Principle, Frederic Vasseur for the 2023 season.

In a report by Gazzetta dello Sport, they said:

“Change in sight at Ferrari, Mattia Binotto will no longer be the team principal in F1 and in his place will arrive Frederic Vasseur from Alfa Romeo. But not right away.

“The news of the sensational change at the top of the Prancing Horse team concerns the management of the team starting from next January.”

Ferrari quickly shut down the rumours.

On Twitter, Ferrari stated:

“In relation to speculation in certain media regarding Scuderia Ferrari Team Principal Mattia Binotto’s position, Ferrari states that these rumours are totally without foundation.”

Ferrari had a great start to the season and looked to be a worthy contender to take the fight to Red Bull.

However, after questionable calls, poor strategy decisions and shocking pit lane dramas, the Scuderia plummetted away from the title fight as Red Bull and – their defending world champion – Max Verstappen took both titles with ease.

The Scuderia are now at risk of being overtaken for second place in the constructors by a resurgent Mercedes.

That’s it for the article; Binotto rumours are ‘without foundation’ says Ferrari!
