The defending Dutch world champion, Red Bull’s Max Verstappen, has taken an entirely new power unit – in a bid to protect his championship lead – this weekend. As a result, the Dutch driver will start the race at the back of the grid.

In addition, Ferrari’s young Monegasque, Charles Leclerc, will also start the race at the back of the grid after the #16 driver took an additional; electronic store and MGU-K.

The two championship rivals will be joined by the likes of; Lando Norris (McLaren), Esteban Ocon (Alpine), Valtteri Bottas (Alfa Romeo) and Mick Schumacher (Haas), at the back of the grid.

This opens up the possibility that Mercedes will secure their first win of the season, at the hands of either, seven-time world champion, Sir Lewis Hamilton or George Russell.

The once-dominant Silver Arrows are currently undergoing their longest winless streak, in F1, as they are 14-races into the season without a win.
