Call of Duty to release F1 map: Marina Bay Grand Prix
8th August 2022The iconic shooter, Call of Duty, is set to release their very own Formula 1 themed map, named: Marina Bay Grand Prix.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 (2022) is set to introduce a multiplayer map which will focus on one of F1’s most demanding circuits of the calendar.
The Marina Bay circuit is home to the Singapore Grand Prix which is due to commence later on this season (September 30 – October 2).
The map will, understandably, contain a much darker tone. The map will feature a war-torn environment where players will hunt down their opponents to secure victory via kills or objectives.
It is very probable that the map will be situated around the pit lane and paddock areas.
The map layout will likely maintain its usual three-lane formation, allowing players to run-and-gun down the middle of the map or flank around the left or right sides for a tactical advantage.
Prior to release of the full game, the open beta will be released in two bouts.
The first round of the open beta will be given to PlayStation players exclusively between September 18 – September 20.
For the remaining platforms, the open beta will be released between September 24 to September 26.
However, the decision to create a war-torn map on a race track may come in poor taste.
Earlier on this year, at the beginning of the season, the F1 paddock were only miles away from a missile strike in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.
Yemen’s Houthi Rebels took responsibility for the attack on the Aramco Oil Depot which occurred during Free Practice 1, during the Saudi Arabia Grand Prix.
The depot was situated 12 miles away from the circuit.
