Drive It Out: F1 launch initiative to remove abuse
30th July 2022Formula 1 have released a brand new initiative; Drive It Out, in a bid to remove abuse from the sport after claims have risen in recent events.
Today F1 have released their latest initiative: Drive It Out, a strong-worded message to condemn abuse of any kind. This came after F1 was made aware of verbal and online abuse against fans and F1 personnel.
In the message, the F1 community which included the current 2022 grid of drivers, F1 CEO, Stefano Domenicali and, FIA President, Mohammed Ben Sulayem, all came together to stand up against abuse.

In a press release, F1 also stated:
“The video message released today recognises that while passion and competition is a very important part of our sport it can go too far, resulting in fans, journalists, presenters and drivers receiving abuse both verbally and online.
“We are all sending a clear message that this isn’t acceptable and must end and those that continue to spread abuse and offensive comments are not welcome in our sport.
“We ask you for your support in spreading this important message and all working together to Drive Out abuse in any form.”
This comes after claims of abuse have risen in recent events, such as fans being sexually harassed in Austria, two races ago. Some fans have allegedly made racist and offensive comments, and booed fans in relevance to their favourite driver.
While today, there was a report that an F1 photographer was allegedly assaulted by a member of security at the Hungaroring.
