F1 condemns fan behaviour at Austrian Red Bull Ring

Formula 1 released a statement as reports came to light of female fans, at the Austrian Red Bull Ring, have becomes victim of sexual harassment.

As fans prepared to watch F1 action, across the Austrian Grand Prix weekend, some fans have been targets of sexual harassment.

Female fans have reported incidents of unacceptable physical, verbal behaviour and having their photographs taken without consent.

Since this news came to light, F1 have released a statement.

F1 said:

“We have been made aware of reports that some fans have been subject to completely unacceptable comments by others at the Austrian Grand Prix.

“We take these matters very seriously, have raised them with the promoter and event security, and will be speaking to those who reported the incidents. 

“This kind of behaviour is unacceptable and will not be tolerated.”

Fans who have been subject to this kind of behaviour – at the circuit – are being advised to raise their reports with ground security. If they wish, they can also raise their incidents with F1 directly, including on social media.
